Message from the Superintendent January 24, 2021

The district learned this morning that an individual at North Warren Central School District tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is in a 3rd grade classroom in the elementary wing.

The Department of Health worked with our Administrative team to do contact tracing and at this time has determined no additional quarantines are needed other than the positive individual.

The North Warren Central School District continues to follow all of the proper protocols including daily health screenings, physical distancing, mask wearing, and handwashing. The district has also been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting our building daily in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC.

As a continued added measure of precaution, please monitor yourself and your child(ren) for any symptoms of COVID. If you believe your child may have any symptoms of COVID please reach out to your medical provider.

If you have any questions regarding this please email mfrench@northwarrencsd.org.

REMINDER for Dismissal:

We are respectfully asking that you please stop meeting your children on the side streets since this is a hazard.

Parent pick up begins at 2:00 pm each day. Line up in our parking lot with the name of your child(ren) visible in the window so our security team can call them out from the gym.

You then pull up to the sidewalk of the building, your child(ren) gets in your car and away you go!

Simply, fast, warm and safe!

Travel Guidance Update:

As families consider traveling over long weekends or over our upcoming February or Spring break please note the following as expectations on what type of test can be accepted has changed for a return to school:

As a general rule, all travelers entering NYS from another state that is not a contiguous state must quarantine for a period of 14 days in accordance with quarantine rules prescribed by the DOH unless they comply with the following “test-out” rules which would permit a shortened quarantine period as follows:

If you travel to another state that is non contiguous to NYS you must obtain a COVID test within the 72 hours preceding your departure from that state, upon your return to NYS you must quarantine for 3 days and then you must obtain a COVID test on Day 4 after arrival in NYS. You will then need to continue to quarantine while you await the results of your Day 4 test which must be a PCR (send out test) to be officially released from post travel quarantine. You would then be able to return to school with both COVID negative test results to hand in to our school nurse.

PREPAY FOR FOOD SERVICES

  • With current national attention being focused on children’s health and wellness issues, North Warren Central School’s Food Service Department is excited to provide parents a convenient, easy and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child’s school meal account at any time.  This service also provides parents the ability to view your child’s account balance through a web site called mySchoolBucks.com.  By having money in each child’s account prior to entering the cafeteria, we find the lunch lines move along much faster so your child has more time to eat and be with friends.

Also, parents will have the ability to print out a copy of their child’s eating history report.  This history report will show you all dates and times that your child has purchased a breakfast and or lunch within the past thirty days.

For more information and to access these services simply click on the Food Service link and choose Payment Information.
