    Dear Alexandria,
Your story about the school garden was fun to read. Your picture helped me understand what the garden looked like.
I especially liked the part about the yellow and black caterpillar. Did you know that some caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies? You can find out about them by looking in a book about butterflies and moths. Do you remember what plant the caterpillar was eating? This information will tell you more about the caterpillar.
    Good luck in your search.
    Sincerely,
    Mary Lou

    To Mrs. Cleveland’s Class:

All of your stories were very interesting and informative. I learned so much about the school’s garden by reading your stories. Your pictures helped me understand how the garden looked last summer. I’m so glad Dominic drew the sundial and named it.

There seem to be so many living insects in your garden. If you are curious, you can find the names of these creatures in library books. Thank you for sharing your fun time in the North Warren Garden.
    Sincerely,
    Mary Lou Smith

    Dear Olivia.

I love the way you wrote about the school garden. You’r story made me feel like I was standing in the garden seeing the vegetables and plants. Nice work!
